Excellent mouse for the price
Very nice mouse for the price. Does feel kind of cheap, but guess what, it is !You get a lot of mouse for the price, very nice wheel with very comfortable click action (resistant enough not to do it by accident, soft enough to not have you think about it) which in my experience is tricky to balance, both left and right buttons are nice and responsive, back and forward buttons inobtrusive. Start menu button is a nice touch as well.I would give it 4 stars because a) I could not figure out what the zoom button and the little toggle behind the wheel do and b) there is no software to remap the buttons. All in all though, for the price, it is an excellent mouse and I am very happy with it, hence the 5 stars.

Good, but probably best for those with larger hands.
Works flawlessly in terms of mouse movement tracking and haven't had any problem with the wireless connection. The laser tracks on most surfaces I've tried. Decent battery life. Apart from the usual left, right, and scroll wheel which doubles as a middle mouse button, the mouse has 4 additional side buttons. Two that act as page forward/backward, there's one for controlling zoom settings in a browser, and one right at the bottom that opens the Windows menu. There's also a "fast scroll" button on top which toggles the speed the scroll wheel works at.Build quality is OK - it's not as solid feeling as some more expensive mice, but it also doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart, and for the price paid I'm happy. It's mostly comfortable to use, and it's quite a large mouse. My only issue with it is that I find the side buttons are not quite optimally placed for my hands anyway. I quite often find I'm pressing the "zoom" button instead of one of the back/forward buttons. That might just be me. It's pretty good though otherwise.

Comfy and good vfm
For the price. This mouse is very comfortable. Small mice cramp my hands. This is very comfy

Very comfortable to hold
Very good value compared to other ergonomic mice. Very comfortable to hold and operate. A good size and fits the hand well. Seems to be less prone to allowing the cursor to vanish or move spontaneously as some mice appear to do.

Cheap but not cheerful!
The quality of this mouse probably matches its cheap price. It does feel cheap (light and flimsy) and is not really very user friendly as the wheel can be easily clicked accidently which can be very annoying and counter-productive when you inadvertently start scrolling at speed. I bought this mouse as I was looking for a large sized mouse to replace an old Logitech mouse that had gone into retirement after giving excellent use for a number of years and which was so much easier to use. I think that I have been the victim of false economy in buying this mouse and maybe I should invest a bit more to get a more worthwhile unit but this is not easy when you never seem to get dimensions of the mice (which, for me, is crucial in getting a decent sized moused). The surface covering of the mouse is already wearing off so there is less "grippiness" to it as it goes from being matte to glossy. There is no rubberised coating at all - just hard plastic with a (very temporary) matte finish. I suppose I should have realised that the clue to the quality was in the name (Amazon Basics) and, in terms of accuracy, it does live up to the "Basics" part of the name. I would not recommend buying this mouse as it looks as though it is only useable for a few months. Probably far better to spend double, or more, on something more substantial and durable

Serious Issues
This mouse has 3 very irritating issues:-1. Bad design. - The location of the mouses "Windows" or start menu key.It is FAR too easy to press this button whilst simply moving the mouse. When this happens, the windows start menu opens and covers your work.2. Poor construction/quality control. - The shiny plastic "pads" that the mouse rides on, are not accurately, or firmly.. stuck on. One in particular on mine is mis-located, becoming unstuck, and actually catches on the mouse mat because its edge is bent up. It feels as if you have a piece of grit under the mouse as you move it.3. Rough Firmware. - if the mouse is still for any length of time it seems to go to sleep... unfortunately there is a definite lag between moving the mouse and waking it up, and your pointers movement. Also, AS it wakes up it suffers from "jerk-O-vision" for seconds at a time, until it catches up with itself. If we weren`t in the middle of a pandemic and I didn`t need this mouse urgently I`d return this in a heartbeat. Not happy.

The mouse is very responsive
Fits well in my hand. The mouse is very responsive. No jitters. Very handy additional buttons. I didn't realise I needed a turbo scroll button

Copy of the shape of "famous brand", cheaper but less luxurious
I guess like many people buying this mouse, I previously had a Logitech Performance MX that broke, and found an exact replacement unavailable at a price I felt like paying, at least as a personal purchase. This Amazon Basics one is more or less exactly the same shape, which means, for me, it's very comfortable to use. Where the Logitech mouse has a silicone rubber type finish around the finger grip areas, this is textured hard plastic. It doesn't have the mechanical ratchet disconnection on the scroll wheel (hyper-fast scrolling or whatever Logitech call it) - the button behind the scroll wheel just changes the amount of scroll per click, though it works well enough. No issues with tracking or connection on mine, it works as expected, no drivers needed. The extra buttons all work as you'd expect, the main buttons and scroll wheel click all work just like any other mouse, and with the batteries fitted it's a reasonable weight in the hand.I have since also acquired, for work, a Logitech Master MX which is, to be fair, objectively better, but it's also well over twice the price. I paid nearly twenty quid for this Amazon one, which I feel is OK, but not a bargain - others apparently got it for less. Overall, it does the job and the shape, for me, is super-comfortable and strain free.
