Did not work on my 2003 745i
Tried this both ways. At first I used the power wire harness without modifying. My CDC would not allow me to select randomly. While troubleshooting, I wired it to 12v as the product description suggested. My CDC would still randomly disappear from my idrive.Quite unfortunate because if it worked consistently I would have given 5 stars. I returned because this product is defective.

What’s a most box and why not a longer aux
The media could not be loaded. Worked great for my 2006 750li got rid of a lot of my static but I had no idea what a “most box” is for the power and they didn’t show anything for it so I just cut the wire bought another product for the fuses and then put the other on a ground the quality is good but it’s not as good when quiet? Idk they also give you a really short aux so I would and did buy a female to male aux extensionNow it’s doing a weird pulse noise and it’s not worth for a replacement for how long it takes to put in and take out and the pulse noise goes away but when it wants to

Works ok.
Definitely nice to not be using CD’s anymore. The install was also pretty easy. Just wish the quality was better. Whole thing feels extremely cheap and there’s a bit of component static in the background. Not too bad but noticeable when the sound is turned way up.Lastly tips to any further buyers. (In my case) the CDC source will not be selectable on certain occasions. I’ve found if I start sending music through the aux before starting the car it is less likely to not appear. In the case it appears as not selectable you will have to go through the tedious process of turning off the car and waiting for all the power to be cut witch takes about roughly a minute. When restarting the car and saying a prayer. Normally it shows back up as selectable. It’s definitely not the most optimal fix. However I will give it credit for being one of the only amateur solutions that doesn't damage car components or require reprogramming.

Below expectations
When the volume is increased you lose part of sound quality
