This book is well written, with many practical tips, motivational and an overall great read.

I purchased this book AFTER doing the course to become Luxury Certified. I thoroughly enjoyed how Jack taught the class and had to buy the book. The quality does not disappoint and thus, I'll actually be gifting this book to several agents.

I purchased this book to see if the author had any particularly interesting or innovative strategies and techniques for "selling luxury homes." But I actually think the book was stronger as a general primer for ALL real estate agents at any price point, because much of the advice is pretty universal to agents at any income or production levels: things like building a sphere, listening to your clients, negotiating from strength. All good stuff, although not specific to luxury real estate.That said, I liked the book very much: lots of solid tips for building a real estate practice, and how to market luxury properties, written in an engaging, conversational style. In fact, my only disappointment with the book was that it was not focused more specifically on luxury real estate, as opposed to the general practice of real estate. Mr. Cotton is obviously a great agent, and one who has become a luxury expert because of where he sells (high end vacation market). But this is a book that's really more about his strategies for being a top real estate agent, which is valuable, rather than a specific step-by-step instructional for building a luxury practice.In other words, Mr. Cotton has a lot of good things to say about how to be a better real estate agent, in the context of luxury real estate. The advice is generally applicable, with some nuggets that are specific to luxury real estate. It's a good book, and you'll be a better real estate agent if you read it and follow his advice.

If you are either getting started in real estate or a seasoned professional, this book is excellent and full of practical and useful information. Unlike many of current real estate books written by TV professionals, Jack does a great job of keeping his ego out of this book and instead focusing on the nuts and bolts of his success. Some of the marketing information is a bit dated due to the publishing timeline of this book so hopefully Jack write and updated edition soon to cover that. Despite the technology piece which plagues ever author, this book is outstanding a a must-read for anybody who wants to build success in the real estate market.

After a career in the corporate world, I switched over to a career in real estate. Believing education was the best way to achieve results, I spent a lot of money to increase my skills - only to find that most courses had outdated information, techniques that wouldn't work on most buyers and sellers that I was familiar with, and taught by people who were making a living teaching rather than selling. I knew the luxury market was where I wanted to be - and by sheer luck I stumbled across Jack Cotton. His book is well written and straightforward with excellent tips and techniques. I also highly recommend his weekly video blogs. I have gotten more value out of his book and blog than almost any other real estate education I have taken. If you are interested in selling luxury or even homes in the higher end of your market, this is a great book and a great value!

I live in the San Francisco East Bay Hills where home prices are in the millions. I am one of the potential luxury sellers that real estate brokers or agents would love to market, yet I have not thought of becoming a luxury home specialist until I read Jack Cotton's book. Jack's writing is straight forward and inspiring, like a great coach who truly believes in us. Jack does not just motivate us, he shows us how to be in the trench and do the work ourselves to be successful like him. I met Jack once in person, but I did not know fully about Jack until I read his book. My respect and admiration toward him increased more than a hundred fold after I read this book. Selling Luxury Homes by Jack Cotton. This is the book you want to read if you are thinking of moving up to luxury real estate sales. Or perhaps you are in a luxury market area but not achieving the results you desire. In this book you will find writings from a generous man. Jack Cotton holds nothing back. He shares his techniques that he has developed over many years, he pulls back the Curtain and shows you examples of marketing, you will learn how to work with/talk to buyers and sellers. He goes over determining market value, negotiating, and listing presentation. With over 30 years under his belt in luxury real estate I doubt you will find a better teacher anywhere. The book is a very easy read.I will be purchasing his Pricing The Luxury Home DVD soon.I thank you jack.

Jack Cotton has written quite a masterpiece here and I've learned so much in just 2 hours of reading. Many of the principles are those I practiced in my 20+ years of financial services sales but now that I'm engaged in Real Estate sales and the luxury market, this book is very useful. As an author myself, I appreciate his style of writing. He's not some pompous arrogant superstar, he seems like a down to Earth guy who loves what he's doing, wants to share his knowledge, experiences and lessons to help his readers.Great book Jack! Great read. Jack lays out a perfect blueprint for not only how to break in to the luxury market, but also sustain a strong presence there as well. Easy to read, the key is implementing it. Definitely a book that can be read more than once.
