Terrific desktop IP phone with lots of features and programmable buttons
I have used just about every brand of IP phone out there. This might be my favorite, as far as bang for the buck. It is a quality phone, without being over engineered and expensive. It is easy to setup, but still has lots of features and buttons. The price is pretty good, compared to rivals. The only fault is that the Amazon versions all seem to come without the power adapter, which is sold separately. The phones do support PoE (power over ethernet), but that can be a bit flakey, especially with older network cable that doesn't transmit power very well. I prefer having a power adapter for each phone. That just me.The screen is pretty basic, but easy to view. The keypad works fine, as long as you don't spill coffee on it. The handset has decent audio quality, and the speakerphone is good too. Some of the Polycom phones do have better speakerphones, but they cost way too much, for a slight improvement, plus they have fewer features until you get to the really expensive models.Features like BLF can be programmed into the extra buttons. This lets you monitor busy status of other extensions (green is available; red is busy). You can also program buttons for things like Call Park, Pickup, Intercom, Group Intercom, and Speed Dial. You can also setup a Call Flow button, such as "gone to lunch" or "holiday mode". And if you want, you can set another button to quickly access your IVR Menu recording, in case you change your Menu Greeting frequently. To get all those programmable button features, you need to be using an Asterisk or FreePBX based phone system. We use FreePBX systems hosted at NebulaPBX, and these phones work great with that. So easy to setup and customize.Phone works great as an office phone, or can be taken home and used by Owners, VIP, Manager, Teleworker, etc. They can make and receive calls, transfer, and intercom, just as if they were in the office.Yealink does make some cheaper models, but this is the least expensive model that has all the extra programmable buttons. So it is worth spending a bit more to get this.Or spend a bit more for the T29G, which has everything this one has, but a larger, color screen, plus 10 programmable buttons instead of 8. That translates to 27 (9x3) instead of 21 (7x3) virtual buttons. Plus the T29G has a USB slot to add bluetooth headset dongle. The big T48G and T48S models are similar to these, but have a 7" touchscreen, for loads of programmable buttons. Pretty awesome, and we have a bunch of those for certain users, kind of as a reward.Well, that's all I can think of. Pretty great phone. Give is a go.

Run dont walk away from this Disaster of a "Phone"
Our company switched to this night mare. Its beyond awful. Example. You pick up a call you CANNOT put it on HOLD. I'm serious. Instead its really "Exclusive-Hold" NOBODY else on a different extension can pick up a call you place on hold. This is a basic requirement and this phone cant do it!!!!! Instead you have to "Park" the call. By hitting this and that and tranf and send and star... whatever.. its a crazy series of gi-rations . Then to page somebody, it kills the call.. good bye. Better off yelling HEY YOU! YOU HAVE A CALL! … then for them to pick up they have to DIAL 1170 .. yes, to pick up a non on hold call that's parked you have to dial 4 digits and then hit send... Are you lost yet? It get worse.. IF somebody else "picked up" a parked call on 1170.. then you have to dial 1171...Do yourself a favor and buy two tin cans and string
