TRUFF Black Truffle Pomodoro Pasta Sauce, 17 OZ

Look if you love truffle then this is your deal. Put this on anything you want. All of the Truff line is amazing

My wife and I tried the Black Truffle bundle, made up of two well-packed bottles of sauce -- one each of Pomodoro and Arrabbiata, and each was delicious! Totally scrumptious, authentic and just-right spicy when it should be, we would be very glad to use either or both of these sauces just about all the time, if we didn't think they were just a bit too expensive for everyday. The truffle flavor is there, if fairly low-key, but that's to be expected given the price (truffle oil is used instead of mushroom slices or bits, as we discovered after delivery when we examined the labels). Another factor in the expense was the bottle size, which was several ounces per bottle less than that found in most of the comparable, other better sauces available here. The difference is not enough to matter if dinner is supposed to take care of only two hungry big-eaters, but those missing ounces probably could make a difference if the dinner were meant to take care of 3 or 4 diners, particularly if the 4 were folks with hearty appetites or enjoyed lots of sauce. Still, each was VERY good, and it absolutely made our dinner for two (with leftovers) a more enjoyable and special occasion, so it was well worth it for us (as a test drive, if nothing else). Yep, they were right darned good! Of course, your mileage may vary, but what the heck, why not give 'em a try! :-)

I love the taste of truffles and see a lot of marketing and hype with TRUFF sauces so I was really curious to try them. I’m not a huge fan of hot sauce so I figured I would start with the pasta one. I was hesitant that this might be too chunky as I don’t like sauces with huge pieces of vegetables in them and usually stick to puréed types, but I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency of this. It’s slightly chunky yet still quite smooth with a delicious, savory flavor of truffle throughout. It really makes a noticeable taste difference and if you don’t use a lot in one go you can get two meals out of one jar. I spread a few spoonfuls over cheese tortellini and it instantly makes it more gourmet. While the price might seem high, I think it’s justified for how great it tastes. I wouldn’t get it for every pasta meal but every now and then I plan to go back for more.

This cost so much at the local store. It has good flavor though tastes a little too sweet.I was going to recreate it based on flavor as I have truffle oil but because it is much cheaper here I just buy it. If it wasn't under ten bucks, i probably wouldn't be buying it and just make my own as the ingredients are basic.

I had two concerns when I got this; that it would be overwhelmingly truffly and that it would be too spicy for me since I am very sensitive to heat. I was glad that it was actually a nicely balanced truffle taste. It did have a tiny spice kick, but it didn't get to me until the end. Overall, a nice sauce, I'm just not sure worth the price.

Very good. Good truffle flavor with no sweetness. Just the right level of acid.

I love the truffle in this. It’s not too overwhelming but enough to know it’s there!

This is the only jarred sauce I will buy that’s actually as good as my own without the trouble. Even though all their Italian gravies are not made in Italy anymore this one is and is one of the most delicious perfectly blended complementary flavors you can imagine. It is so extraordinarily delicious I literally eat it out of the jar at room temperature or a pour some into a bowl and soak it up with a good crusty bread and eat it that way. The sauce is just too good for pasta. Yes it’s on the pricey side, but it’s worth a splurge according to my very fussy taste buds and tight budget.
