The protection is in that the silicone provides a moisture waterproof barrier, UV protection is not implied. Hope this helps

Q: Would this be a good lube for Nitro Piston air guns that can not use a petroleum base due to the seals?

This is for cleaning & reconditioning hard rubbers e.g. wiper blades, door , Window seals not for o ring seals. To rejuvenate an old seal try atp 205 but I don't remember if it can or can't use on your seals type.Hope it's helpful to you

No, only use lubricant made for treadmill belts, there is silicone spray made 100% for treadmill belts
