Teenage foot stink.
Those three words in my review headline are all you really need to know. Those in the know, will know what I'm talking about, and those without teens will probably be in the dark. For a couple of years now, we've had some serious, gagging, stinking teen shoe smell. It's so bad that the offending odor haunts my olfactory glands when I'm out of the house. Hours later. I get chills just thinking about it. Really. I've tried powders sprinkled in his shoes. I've tried all the sprays that everyone swears will do the trick. No, my kid's stinking shoes are the gift that keeps on giving and defy all the standard remedies. These seemingly innocuous UV-shoe sanitizers/sterilizers sold by Comyan vastly, I repeat VASTLY, reduce the misery caused by my son's stinking shoes. I can even smell the ozone the sanitizers produce, and within minutes the odor emanating from his shoes is greatly reduced, not completely gone, but manageable, and it's good knowing the bacteria creating the odor is getting stopped from multiplying further. What I do: my son has two pairs of shoes that he alternates wearing, and as soon as he comes home, I put the sanitizers in the toe-end of the shoes he wore that day for the 15-minute setting (by pressing and holding the button until the UV light turns on), and then I flip the devices so that they work on the heel-end. If I remember to, I'll run them again for another round to further decrease the smell. If you put your nose near the shoes afterward (not recommended, because, you know, I'm convinced nothing will completely take the odor away), you'll still smell the stink, but from arms length, the smell is manageable. Even my kid thinks so. I could use the always-on function, but I don't feel comfortable leaving any device on all the time unmonitored, so I set it for 15 minutes at a time.I will add that I probably wouldn't have believed any device would make a difference, except that I'd bought a similar, more cheaply-made product on clearance at a store a year ago. I was skeptical at the time, but was desperate and gave it a shot. Even those devices made a bit of a difference over just using powders and sprays, so I was ready for something more heavy-duty. I highly recommend trying these shoe sanitizers, because I tell you, my family thanks me.

Works really well
It works exactly as advertised; you put the bulbs into your shoes, plug in the wall adapter and in 15 minutes your shoes come out smelling much fresher (not a new shoe smell, but a clean ozone like smell). I don't know if this kills 99% of bacteria and fungus like the manufacturer claims - but it does a good job removing the smell. It comes with a certificate from the "Guangdong Detection Center of Microbiology" saying that it kills 99.99% of bacteria - seems legitimate, right?! Ha.My only gripe with this item is that it's not UL listed, so I don't like to leave it unattended while plugged in.

It works.
I thought this was pretty hoaky at the beginning but I had to do something with my stinky shoes/socks when the come out of my shoes. After about a month or two of use I can definitely tell that this works as my shoes and boots no longer smell really bad. I am happy with this product. It would be nice if you could select the amount of run time but you can always just do two cycles.

Stopped working in one week
I was very excited about this product.I used this and a boot dryer on hockey equipment to try to get rid of odors, and hopefully kill off any bacteria or fungus that might be trying to grow there.Since I started using both products on the equipment, the odors did get better. But I can't say whether or not this item improved things, because I never used it by itself. But I can tell you that it stopped working after about a week. At first, I saw the UV lights were working - I had the equipment under a towel so that I wouldn't accidentally damage my eyesight by looking at them. I could see a faint blue glow beneath the towel when I first got this. But earlier today, I noticed I didn't see the blue glow. I didn't want to look too closely, and figured it was probably fine, and I had just obscured the lights with the equipment. But when I went back, out of curiosity I checked to see if that was the case. It wasn't - I should have been able to see the glow just fine.So I unplugged the unit from its power supply (great design, I don't have to unplug the power supply itself from the wall, and can be sure it's not going to accidentally turn on the lights while I'm holding it). I reconnected it, made sure everything was positioned so I could see the glow beneath the towel, and turned it on (held the button to transition the LED from green to red). No glow, in either light. It's unlikely that both bulbs burned out simultaneously, so I'm thinking the controller itself must have somehow lost its mind. Though it's possible that the bulbs are wired in series, and one of them burned out, cutting off power to the second bulb.Sadly, I'm returning this, as I had seen this mentioned in other reviews. I thought maybe they just got unlucky - it happens. But them unlucky, plus me unlucky, it seems like there's a design issue. I don't trust a replacement to last either. I may look to get a different brand when I have time. One last note - I had seen some reviewers report that their UV lights were on even though the timer had expired, and the LED had returned to green - I also saw that happen.

Worked like a charm
Worked like a charm. I have had chronic athletes foot that was relentless. Properly disinfecting my shoes was key to success.

Good value
I had a pricier uv shoe light/drier, and it worked well but didn't have timer. I had to rig one up so the light wouldn't stay on all the time, and used it until one of the non-replaceable lights burned out. This was cheaper and has a timer which is great, but I highly question the build quality of them. I glued them to vertical shoe trees and just slip my shoes on to them when I get home. I feel like the performance has been as expected, and can report that no stinky foot smells remain in any shoes that I use this with.

Effective but not user friendly
This product has a switch which takes a bit to suss out. Once you find out that you have to press and hold the button you’re ok. Another annoying feature is the relatively short timer (15min). Really smelly trainers will Need at least 1h. So you will have to hang around and keep pressing that button forever.

One happy camper
I have to say I’m very happy with this product. I did a lot of research checking other products, reading reviews and I’m happy I went with this product. The first thing you will notice is how small the bulbs are, there just little guys, but they work well.I’m using this product because I’m dealing with foot fungus, I’m on the pills but I needed to kill the spores in my shoes, otherwise it will return. I’ve used it in all my shoes. The unit has a15 min. cycle. For the shoes that I use a lot, sneakers and work boots I ran two to three cycles. The only reason I did this was to make sure they were clean and for piece of mind. How do I know it’s working, one: the odours are gone and two: you can smell the ozone.I know uv works because I’m a wastewater technician and we use uv to disinfect wastewater. So I hopes this helps. On a side note, I love the review we’re the person is unhappy because the unit did not dry their shoes, that is funny.

I'm amazed how good these work
I'm amazed how good these work! I have super hot feet. I hate wearing shoes, socks, or even sandals as my feet get burning hot when I have anything on my feet. Sucks having hot sweaty feet all day. These sterilizers work great at killing odour from my runners. (So far I've only tried on running shoes.) I'll update once the snow goes away n it's sandal wearing time again.

Wonderful product, that really helps foot odor problem
Wonderful product, that really helps foot odor problem, and I think it will greatly enhance shoe life, but that is still to be proven - haven'thad it long enough. Hope that the UV (and ozone that is generated) do not accelerate deterioration of shoe material, but I think I would continue to use it anyway, because embarassing foot odor is really not a preferred option.
