This camera has great technology that continues to get better with app releases. It takes great stills and video and we were interested in both which made it so appealing to us. And we were not disappointed...360 photos: This camera takes very good images using its own software. However, if you are looking to get the most out of this product there is a bit of a learning curve and work to it using more expensive software like PTGUI and Photoshop. But that is a good thing because it is possible to work at professional levels with a less expensive camera. We really like it for the money. It is not perfect but it is a great value. I think it is worth 4.5 stars but as we may only rate it for a full 4 or 5, and I hesitate giving it a full 5, we rate it a 4.Video: We have only begun to experiment and it is quite impressive. We will know more as we update our computers to handle full 8K video editing. The fact that you can take great 360 images and awesome video really makes it with it.

I didn't expect the sound quality to be as good as it is. The picture quality is amazing, but I expected it to be. It works great as a two camera interview camera with only one device. Fits nicely in your back pocket for ease of travel. Nicest 360 camera I've gotten to use, even in low light.

Qoocam 8k is useless pos. I have both one x camera and GoPro Max 360. The problem with qoocam is that you cannot edit 360 with angles with PC, only with the Android app which takes forever to edit. Comparing the 8k results from that is worse than 5.7k from my Insta360 one x. Just get the one x or their new one r. Even gorpo max 360 is horrible due to the crappy editing software. Spent $2000 on all these cameras but ended up using only the one x camera. Ugh

So far I like the camera and the images/videos it produces. I need to spend more time with it to get it's full capabilities.

Great virtual camera for the price. My clients definitely enjoy the quality and dynamic range is excellent.

Love the camera

I love this camera. I use it to record My Yoga practice, ah when I do personal training with my Yoga instructor. FUN ! GREAT!... this is my first 360 degree camera.... It's so useful to scroll the video for good angles to SEE, How.... what form mistakes my old carcass is making in my yoga practice. smileI did have a Learning curve with the QooCam rendering software AND you need a powerful computer that can handle 8 k video.I am surprised at how useful 360 degree video IS. I really wish I had more time to Master this camera... smile. Oh well even with my limited usage of the QooCam 8k I do love the camera...

I was skeptical about this camera after reading and watching all the reviews online. I decided to take my chance since it has the best specification among all the 360 cameras. I pull the trigger and finally received the camera. All I can say is it is much better than what I expected. I updated the camera with the firmware 152 and the DNG8 and superHDR is amazing. The smartclip feature is so thoughtful and convenient. It helps creating all the stunning and fun videos. I am so happy that I took my chance and bought this camera! Love it so far after owning it for a week.

Oh where to start! Well, i have had this camera for 3 days now and this is the issues I am having.1) The software you get from Qoocam's site Version 1.4.1.5 will not work with this camera, you have to go onto facebook and join the Qoocam 8k page to find the link to version 1.5.1.5. Then you will need a Nvidia GTX 980 min for the software to process slow motion as well as quite a powerful PC with lots of memory. The Mac program has not been updated, so will not work.2) The camera has a fan to keep it cool which switches off when filming, but you hear the sound of the fan turning off in the audio. UPDATE! Had this camera a year now, and it is more trouble than it is worth. Complicated, lot of hassle and stuff will work one day, but not the next. For example Facebook live no longer works. All this camera does is gather dust!3) The audio is terrible, apart from the sound quality, it picks up any vibration from the selfie stick.4) My camera keeps locking up and I need to power off then on to restart it.5) There is no documentation telling you how to go about getting the film out of the camera, you just have to search the web, but being that this is such a new camera, there isn't much out there except raving reviews... (take them with a pinch of salt)6) The battery life seems to go quite quickly, just messing about takes 10%, I expect it is enough for the internal memory, but anything extra will need an external battery pack ....I hope this will turn out to be a good camera, but it needs better software, more updates to deal with the locking up issue, fan noise and an idiots guide as to how to use it!UPDATE! Moved the stars from 3 to 4 now that I have had the camera a little longer. The photo is only 1954 mb and when viewed on a UHD Tv or Oculus headset is fantastic, lot of detail, could almost be in the room, (just as good as the same picture at MP4 at 211,590 Mb). When I learnt how to get the video out of the camera and into my Oculus go (Put the camera on my passenger seat of the car, and was amazed at how realistic it looked, now I know what I look like when I am driving!). BUT to process the video on your pc (i7 770 4.2ghz with 16 Gb memory) 1 minute is taking 14 minutes to process at 100%.So in conclusion, this is a great camera, but it needs powerful processing power if you want to move it out of the camera, and patience is needed while they iron out the bugs.... but this is a brand new camera to the market, and although the go pro might be just as good, this one will do 8K once we have a way to view it!

Nach anfänglicher Skepsis auf Grund der recht verhaltenen Bewertungen habe ich dennoch gewagt, die QooCam 8K auszuprobieren. Hier ganz kurz meine Feststellungen:Ja, die chromatische Abberation bei den Fotos ist an sich furchtbar (z.B. bei DNG-8 oder DNG-8 Express), ABER nicht mehr vorhanden im Modus "Super HDR", der anscheinend erst später hinzukam, nach ein paar Updates der Firmware. Ich habe die Modi verglichen und "Super HDR" ist für uns (beruflich) sehr überzeugend. Auch im Vergleich zur Theta Z1. D.h. beim Thema Fotos: Sehr gut!Video: Drei Faktoren waren für uns ausschlaggebend: 1. Stabilisierung (im Vergleich zum "Flow State" der insta 360 OneX), 2. Auflösung (also im Prinzip die "Schärfe"), 3. Dynamikumfang.Die QooCam hat leider (noch?) keinen LOG-Modus, aber auch der End-User-Modus ohne LOG sieht sehr gut aus und bedeutend besser als z.B. bei der One X. Das betrifft im Besonderen das Rauschverhalten in dunklen Lichtverhältnissen; hier ist die QooCam, vermutlich wg. der größeren Sensoren, überlegen.Bei der QooCam zeigt sich m.E., was heutzutage öfter passiert: Ein Hersteller wirft ein Produkt auf den markt, welches leider noch nicht so ausgereift ist und dann hagelt es auch negative Rezensionen. Ich habe die Kamera im Juli 2020 erworben, also einige Zeit nach der Einführung und nach vielen Firmware-Updates. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt stelle ich fest, dass ich die negativen Rezensionen, die bestimmt berechtigt waren, nur noch bedingt nachvollziehen kann.Im Prinzip redet man wirklich über unterschiedliche Produkte; je nachdem, wann die Beurteilung stattfindet. Ich kannte es von damals noch nicht, aber alleine Software-Updates können dafür sorgen, dass aus einer schlechten oder mittelmäßigen Kamera im Laufe der Updates eine (sehr) gute wird. (So übrigens auch geschehen bei der Parrot Anafi Drohne).Update: Die "Euphorie" hat sich etwas gelegt. Der interne Speicher (64 GB) lässt sich bei mir nicht auslesen und ist daher für mich unbrauchbar. Die In-Camera Stabilisierung ist gut, aber die zusätzliche Stabilisierung in der QooCam Studio Software ist leider nicht sehr ausgereift; manchmal gibt es überraschende "Sprünge". Fazit: Für Fotos immer noch empfehlenswert, für Video mit Abstrichen.

Habe gerade nach schneller Lieferung :-) die Cam ausgepackt und aufgeladen. Jetzt der große Augenblick ...Einschalten. Ein leises, aber nicht zu überhörendes "Säuseln" kommt mir aus der Cam entgegen :-/. Davon stand in keinem der Werbetexte etwas, und auch in keinem der auf yputube zu findenden Test- und Werde-Spots wird davon etwas erwähnt. Die Cam macht ein "lufterartiges" Geräusch, das nicht zu überhören ist :-(. Das kostet mindestens einen Stern. Der " 6-axis gyro"? Ein Lüfter wird's ja wohl nicht wirklich sein.Was Abmessungen und Gewicht betrifft, ist die "QooCam 8k" deutlich eine Nummer größer als die "insta360 One X" :-/. Ob das durch die Eigenschaften der Cam und der zugehörigen Software aufgehoben wird, wird sich in nächster Zeit zeigen.Während ich die Einstellungen im Schnelldurchgang durchgegangen bin und dies hier schreibe ist der Akku auf 75% gefallen (vielleicht 15Minuten) ...hmmm :-|.Fortsetzung folgt ...Aktualisierung zum "Säuseln" der "QooCam 8k". Es handelt sich tatsächlich um einen unüberhörbaren Lüfter :-o. In den Einsellungen läßt sich dieser auf "always on" oder "auto" konfigurieren. Ich hatte ihn auf "auto". Dann geht er zumindest bei Videoaufnahmen aus. Trotzdem ist am Anfang der Videos das abklingende Lüftergeräusch noch deutlich zu hören. Bei Verwendung eines externen Mikros (wer macht das aber schon?) mag das nicht auffallen.Nun habe ich die Cam doch wieder eingepackt und sie wird morgen zurück geschickt. Warum?Die QooCam- App und QooCam-Studio verlangen nach Systemresourchen, die meine 3..5 Jahre alte Technik nicht hergibt. QooCam-Studio verlangt nach einer "NVidia GTX 980 above" :-(, mein PC hat nur eine "GT650M". Da bleibt der Button zur Verbindungsaufnahme mit der Cam deaktiviert. Die Variante, die Bilder auf den PC zu laden und dann lokal zu bearbeiten funktioniert auch nicht ...der PC wurde unendlich langsam und wäre fast abgestürzt. Mit einem "Axon 10 Pro" funktioniert die Bearbeitung der Aufnahmen einigermaßen flüssig. "Axon 7" und "iPad Air" gehen gar nicht oder nur sehr langsam.Viel entscheidender für den Entschluss zur Rückgabe war aber die Tatsache, daß die "8k" und der große Foto-Sensor in der Qualität der Aufnahmen nicht wiederzufinden sind. Im Vergleich zur "insta360 One X" mit nur "5,7k" sind die Aufnahmen der 2QooCam 8k" deutlich schlechter, aber auf keinen Fall besser. Die Aufnahmen erscheinen irgendwie "vermatscht" und "schwammig" (gut zu sehen an Aufnahmen von z.B. Rasenflächen). Für diese Enttäuschung gibt's noch einen Punkt Abzug.Aus meiner Sicht ist die "QooCam 8k" im Vergleich zur "inst360 One X" (noch) keine Kaufempfehlung :-(

This is a good camera. The quality of the video and photos is good. The size of the unit is good, and the selfie stick you can buy for it is great. But there are a few downsides.The microphone is poor, but you can use an external microphone. You can get a half decent one for £20.Make sure you turn it off properly, because if its left on and inside the pouch it will get very hot. In fact there have been issues with the camera overheating in normal use, so many people recommend using a powerbank when you are using it. There is a good usergroup on Facebook which i recommend.The whole process of editing the photos is a chore. Just be aware. This camera isn't professional grade, but I do think complete beginners will struggle to get good results. The use of Lightroom and PT GUI for example will help a lot.The instructions leave a lot to be desired. For example there are on screen icons shown in the instructions that are not on the camera, due to software updates. So you definitely will need to watch video tutorials or web site guides for a lot of the functionality.So a good camera, but not an easy or convenient camera.
